First, I would like to thank the Beb el-Dahab team and MARCH NGO because no other NGO has worked for the area like they did. They did all the work I couldn’t afford: electricity, painting, sanitary work, aluminum and signage. I would like to thank MARCH on my behalf and on behalf of the whole area.

Beb el-Dahab is a great idea, the labor were all from the area, giving them a chance to work. Everything was perfect and we got everything we asked for. I wish such projects could be implemented in other areas, too.

I thank the Beb el-Dahab team for their efforts in the area. Hopefully, in your presence, we will have more of this kind of work.

When I see the hundreds of shops that had been destroyed, it is us, the local youth, that contributed in re-building and beautifying them. We helped many families through this initiative. This gives me a sense of pride, and I believe this is the cause that every one of us needs to be fighting for.

As young men and women, we need to break the cycle of unhappiness and segregation imposed on us. We’re just like any other young person in Lebanon, we’re good at doing things, we have hopes and aspirations just like everyone else. All we needed was an opportunity.

Beb el-Dahab introduced me to many people who became my friends and whom I would have never had the chance to meet if it weren’t for this project. It honed my skills as a painter, and the English courses took me back to my school days… Most importantly, it taught me how to deal with difficult circumstances differently, and how to overcome problems by working together!
